9os nostalgia at the legendary Count Basie Theater

Ahhhh the 90s…what a time to be alive. No cell phones, no social media, just us, living in the moment until the street lights came on (IYKYK). Seeing this show brought me right back there and made my heart so happy!

Vertical Horizon kicked off the night and their energy was infectious! The sold-out crowd became one, as we all sang along to “You’re a God!” The crowd definitely did not want them to end their set, and neither did I!

“The show must go on” as they say, and Toad the Wet Sprocket (one of my favorite bands of all time by the way) was next up. I can’t entirely be sure, but I don’t think there was a dry eye in the house when they played “Walk on the Ocean.” They did guitar solos, drum solos, and even brought members from each band on the ticket to collab with them, which to no one’s surprise, had everyone dancing in the aisles!

Closing the show was the incomparable Gin Blossoms. Talk about making my 90s heart happy, they did exactly that. Everyone loved them and how could you not?! They played hit after hit, and even snuck a John Denver cover in there for good measure. Not a single person sat for their entire set and sang along to every song they played!

What a night! What a show! The 90s…good times.
