This fall, Australian alternative rock band Atlas Genius and electronic artist, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Robert DeLong will join forces for a co-headline tour across the United States. Kicking off on September 8 in Chicago, the tour will travel coast to coast through various major cities, culminating at the Echoplex in Los Angeles on October 21. Both artists are gearing up for album releases, with Atlas Genius’s End of the Tunnel set to drop on September 6, and Robert DeLong's Playlist of Doom releasing on September 13. Tickets are on sale now and available for purchase here.
Atlas Genius formed in 2009 when the Jeffery brothers, Keith, Steven, and Michael, started to play gigs to help pay the family’s bills when their father fell ill. After a few years and once their father was in better health, the band built a recording studio in their garage. This studio was the birthplace of their debut album When It Was Now which featured “Trojans” and “If So," both topping the U.S. Alternative charts.
Throughout their career, Atlas Genius has toured internationally, sharing the stage with bands such as Weezer, Blink-182, Incubus, Silversun Pickups, The Neighborhood, Passion Pit, Imagine Dragons, Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness, and The Kooks, among others. They have graced some of the most renowned music festivals, including Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits, Outside Lands, Bottlerock, Shaky Knees, and Life is Beautiful. Additionally, the band has made appearances on prominent TV shows like those hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, James Corden, Conan O’Brien, David Letterman, and Jay Leno. Atlas Genius was last set to tour the U.S. back in 2021; however, due to the strict travel restrictions for Australians during the COVID-19 pandemic, the band was forced to cancel the tour. The upcoming tour marks their first in six years and also makes the 11th anniversary of When It Was Now. Multiple tracks from their upcoming album are available for listen now, including lead single “On A Wave” in addition to “Don’t Let Love Be A Stranger,” “Nobody Loves Like You,” and “Romans.” The band’s current members include brothers Keith Jeffery (vocals, guitar), Michael Jeffery (drums), and Steven Jeffery (synth/keys), along with Dave Green on guitar.
Robert DeLong is embarking on a new phase in his life and artistic career with the release of his fourth full-length album, Playlist of Doom. Originally from Seattle but now based in Los Angeles, Robert DeLong has always infused his music with personal reflections, but this latest album embraces a raw honesty through cleverly crafted lyrics. He explains, that while his earlier work was more existential, his new material delves into personal and relational insights gained with age. Playlist of Doom began to take shape after his 2021 album, Walk Like Me, didn't meet his expectations, prompting late-night writing sessions in his home studio. The album blends genres from indie pop to electronica and reggaetón, with autobiographical themes emerging organically. Featuring the Latin American cumbia-inspired single “Deserve It All” with Pahua, the album also includes diverse influences like dub, breakbeat, and '90s alternative music. Notable tracks include the love song “Makeshift Paradise” and the introspective “Slowly.” DeLong's varied career includes platinum hits, millions of streams, and performances at major festivals like Coachella and Lollapalooza. Now, with Playlist of Doom on Round Hill Records, Robert DeLong feels aligned with his music and career trajectory, ready to continue his journey.
