BEARTOOTH RELEASE NEW SINGLE “DOUBT ME” + MUSIC VIDEO. NEW ALBUM “THE SURFACE” OUT 10/13.

Updated: Mar 6, 2024

The gold-selling, billion-streaming rock band BEARTOOTH have announced their fifth album The Surface. It will arrive October 13 via Red Bull Records. Pre-order it here.

The Surface continues the personal and powerful journey for vocalist Caleb Shomo that he has been documenting since the beginning. Caleb is never hesitant to share his demons in his music and with his fans. However, in contrast to the negative, dark and angst themes found in his previous work, the frontman has turned a corner with a more optimistic outlook and demonstrates exceptional growth as both an artist and a human being through the songs that comprise the album.

And that continues in the music video for their new track "Doubt Me." Click the thumbnail bow or watch it here.

The music video, directed by Zebulon, simply captures Beartooth in their most natural state — performing live and unleashed on their instruments with ferocious abandon!

"Doubt Me" is perhaps Beartooth's heaviest single on the new album so far. The song's sound is a good mixture of their previous work, namely the first and third album, Disgusting and Below respectively. The verse reminds me of "The Lines" while the chorus and overall guitar tone remind me of "Devastation". The lyrics represent a very positive but stern message on taking a stance against people who doubt you and try to put you down and Caleb gets loud and in your face about it.

"We all have our own struggles that we deal with quietly…Sometimes, it can be hard to explain to the people around you what you're dealing with. What may be perceived by others as weakness is actually a battle with yourself that you know will be conquered. Being in the thick of serious change is never easy, and being brought down by those who don't understand can add to the weight. Know that when you're in those moments, sometimes you need to just put your head down and fight with all you have, regardless of whatever people say you're capable of at the moment." - Caleb Shomo

As the band's fastest moving song on the active rock radio charts in history, "Might Love Myself" has landed in the Top 20 within three weeks of its release. In addition, all three tracks released thus far - "Riptide," "Sunshine!" and "Might Love Myself" - have reached nearly 50 million streams.
