December 13, 2023, Cassadee Pope wanted to end the year with a BANG, and she did just that at The East Room in Nashville, Tennesse to a sold-out crowd solidifying herself as a pop-punk queen. Joining her for the show were a couple of extremely talented Nashville locals Sierra Annie and Natalia Taylar.

Sierra Annie was first on stage and immediately caught everyone's attention with her incredible vocals. Hailing from a small town in Iowa, Sierra moved to Nashville to pursue her dreams as a musician. She started stylistically with country but has found a home in the pop-punk community. Annie performed her originals Carly, Your Girlfriend Wants Me, and finished the set with her newest single XRN. Throughout the set Sierra, had an uncanny ability to connect with the crowd, which is something I always appreciate.

Next up was Nashville's own Natalia Taylar. Natalia was a giant ball of energy and sass. From the first song Bad Guy, the crowd knew what they were in for. Towards the end of the set, Taylar slowed things down and talked about the importance of mental health and taking mental health seriously. She then played her song NVR FRVR which dives into those mental health issues, how they aren't forever, and how they will always get better. Natalia kept the energy high and crowd engagement was through the roof. She finished her set with Deathwish, and it was the perfect way to warm up the crowd for the headliner.

Finally, the time had come that everyone had been waiting for. The band took the stage and feedback blared through the PA system. The lights dimmed and the crowd erupted into cheers. Cassadee Pope runs onto the stage and immediately commands attention with her presence. Pope's energy was contagious. The crowd was singing each song on the setlist word for word which included fan favorites from all of Cassadee's eras from Hey Monday all the way to current hits.

One of the standout moments of the night was when Cassadee's street team had signs made for the crowd to hold up during her performance of People That I Love Leave. Once Pope figured out what was happening, she burst into tears making it difficult for her to finish the song. The connection between her and her fans is undeniable.

Fans got a treat as Cassadee had a few tricks up her sleeve. Hey Monday guitarist Alex "Pimpshaw" Lipshaw came onstage to play the fan favorite How You Love Me Now. A few songs later, Pope had yet another guest come out. This time it was Taylor Acorn to sing their collab Coma. Pope closed the night with a cover of Avril Lavigne's I'm With You and my personal favorite Hey Monday song, Homecoming. Cassadee's genuine and down-to-earth demeanor made the performance feel intimate the entire night. Her ability to connect with her fans and everyone in the crowd on an emotional level shows her authenticity as an artist. All of this goes to show that she is right where she belongs and I am glad she's back to her roots.
