The acclaimed indie-chamber rock band Cloud Cult is set to headline at Le Poisson Rouge in New York City on August 29th, marking a major highlight in their upcoming U.S. headline tour. This tour follows the release of their new single and video for "I Am A Force Field," which fans can listen to and watch online.
"I Am A Force Field" is the band's first release from their forthcoming studio album, due in August. The single was crafted by frontman Craig Minowa in the solitude of a tiny cabin studio on wheels nestled in Wisconsin woods. Minowa share, "Being alone in the tree for so long really allowed me to lend an ear to the wild little kid inside of me in ways that I haven't heard in a long time, and I think that little boy really took over this song." The track is infused with natural sounds from the surrounding environment, including the creek near the studio, adding a unique, organic quality to the music.
The song is a reflection of facing anxieties and inner shadows, offering a taste of the introspective and immersive experience fans can expect from the new album. Cloud Cult plans to release a steady stream of singles leading up to the album's full release, keeping fans engaged with new content each month.
Kicking off their tour at People Fest in Yuba, Wisconsin, Cloud Cult will bring their high-energy performances to key cities across the U.S. The tour will include headline shows and festival appearances, with more dates to be announced later in the year.
