Dead Posey, comprised of lead singer Danyell Souza and guitarist/multi-instrumentalist Tony Nova, have officially announced their upcoming album *Are You In A Cult?," set for release on October 18. Along with this announcement, the band has also dropped a new single.

The album’s title hints at its thematic exploration of modern-day "mini-cults," influenced by political figures, social media personalities, authors, self-help gurus, and celebrities. With their signature punk-rock energy, Dead Posey delves into these topics with a bold "DGAF" attitude, blending dark, macabre imagery inspired by cults, monsters, and nightmares. The music itself weaves together the rebellious spirit of goth and punk with elements of '80s synth-pop and '90s alternative rock.

In discussing the album, the band shared, "We’ve been eager to release this debut album, and we’re thrilled it’s finally happening. Some of these songs have been in the works for years. The title 'Are You In A Cult?' reflects the way we’ve seen mini-cults form all around us. People are being drawn into following charismatic leaders or ideas, often at their own detriment. We’ve all fallen into it at one time or another, but we hope asking the question gives people a bit more awareness and control."

Regarding their new single "Scar," Dead Posey explained, "This is the most vulnerable song we’ve ever written, and it was the last one we recorded for the album. It stems from the demons that haunt me and the monsters I sense when the world feels overwhelming. It’s a cathartic lullaby for anyone struggling through their darkest moments. Acknowledging the pain is where the healing begins, and learning to live with those scars is part of that process."
