In the grand tapestry of rock ‘n’ roll, every thread has its purpose, every color its meaning, and every pattern its story. For the band LORD OF THE LOST, their vibrant weave has just become richer with the addition of a new hue—Benjamin “Benji“ Mundigler.
As the band embarked on their monumental “15 Years of LORD OF THE LOST” European tour, a long-whispered secret finally echoed through the halls of Nuremberg. The ensemble, known for their electrifying performances and gothic allure, announced a transformation that would forever alter their musical silhouette. Benji, a familiar face behind the scenes, stepped into the limelight as the official sixth member, bringing with him a symphony of strings and keys.
For six years, Benji was the unseen heartbeat of the band’s live shows, a maestro managing everything from guitar strings to stage lights. Yet, it was on one fateful night at Lordfest, when the bassist Klaas was sidelined by a relentless migraine, that Benji’s hidden virtuosity came to light. With only an hour and a half to prepare, he mastered the setlist on bass, a feat that would foreshadow his destined ascension.
Chris Harms, the voice that has led LORD OF THE LOST through tempests and triumphs, shared his thoughts on this pivotal moment: “There are so many good reasons why it was long overdue for Benji to officially join us, but perhaps the one most important reason is: we all want it! It just feels right for all of us. And we are proud to have such a great talent as Benji in our band. We already made the decision in autumn 2023, and we are excited to finally present ourselves as a sextet. We are confident that the best fans in the world will welcome Benji with enthusiasm and open arms!”
The band’s journey has been nothing short of legendary, having shared stages with giants like Iron Maiden, capturing hearts at the Eurovision Song Contest, and igniting audiences on a nearly sold-out headline tour. Now, as they celebrate a decade and a half of artistry, LORD OF THE LOST stands poised to conquer new horizons with their upcoming North American tour and the release of “The Blood & Glitter (Video Edition)”—a treasure trove of audiovisual splendor set to grace shelves on May 10, 2024.
