Gatecreeper has recently announced the release of their new album, Dark Superstition. This album marks their label debut with Nuclear Blast and is expected to release on May 17. The band's third full-length album is more concise, melodic, and memorable than their previous works. Vocalist Chase H. Mason, guitarists Eric Wagner and Israel Garza, drummer Metal Matt Arrebollo, and bassist Alex Brown have crafted a unique sound that sets them apart from the rest.

Dark Superstition explores themes related to the supernatural, divination, fear of the unknown, and belief in magic or chance. According to Mason, many of the songs in the album incorporate supernatural concepts along with his personal experiences. However, the album title refers to the Superstition Mountains in Arizona, where Mason and his bandmates hail from. Despite being a beautiful mountain range, the Superstition Mountains are surrounded by tragic stories and legends of hidden wealth.

The first single from the album, "The Black Curtain," was recently teased. This song is heavily influenced by rock music and perfectly captures the themes of Dark Superstition with its story of divination. The lyrics describe a soul caught between life and death, trapped in purgatory, and begging for a supernatural force to bring it back. Max Moore directed the music video for "The Black Curtain."
