Norwegian singer-songwriter and record producer, girl in red, has announced that she will release her sophomore album I’M DOING IT AGAIN BABY! via Columbia Records on April 12. In support of the album announcement, she releases the track “Too Much”. In “Too Much”, girl in red embraces vulnerability and bravely examines an emotionally unavailable love interest, noting that “you just love to kill the light in my eyes / to make me low when I’m high” and defiantly begs of her, “please, don’t say I’m too much / that I’m over the top / you don’t understand me.”

Regarding “Too Much” girl in red shares, “I’ve always been told I’m too much. Throughout my whole childhood and in my adult years. Getting shut down when I’m at my happiest or most excited made me feel self-conscious, alienated, and weird. It wasn’t until I encountered the same feeling in my relationships, that I realized how much it actually hurt me to never feel fully accepted for who I am. As well I think culturally people tend to be too cool to have fun or to show true excitement and emotions, and I’m so tired of that façade.”
girl in red, who spent much of 2023 opening for Taylor Swift on her Eras Tour as well as her own global festival run, can also be found in A24 Music’s forthcoming compilation Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense, which comes in celebration of the recent re-release of Jonathan Demme’s iconic concert film of the same name and the 40th anniversary of its accompanying soundtrack album.
