GOZU's latest album, Remedy, released last Spring via Blacklight Media/Metal Blade Records, features nine tracks that showcase the band's signature blend of fuzzy '70s-inspired riffs, catchy grunge-esque vocal melodies, and a hint of old-school psychedelia. The album has been praised for its passion and enthusiasm, a testament to the band's dedication to their craft.
A significant addition to the band's lineup is drummer Seth Botos, who joined vocalist/guitarist Marc Gaffney, guitarist Doug Sherman, and bassist Joe Grotto. Gaffney remarked Botos' impact: "Seth brings such an impeccable work ethic and freshness to the band that it was infectious. He is the breath of delicious fresh air the three old men needed. He reminds us of a young Kevin Bacon/Wayne Rooney."
The recording of Remedy at Wild Arctic Studios in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, with producer/engineer Dean Baltulonis (Death Ray Vision, The Hope Conspiracy), was a unique experience the band. Botos's impressive work ethic saw him laying down his drums in just a day-and-a-half, contributing significantly to the album's polished and energetic sound. The result has been met with widespread acclaim. Denver Westword called Remedy "a perfect mix of what GOZU does best: spacy psychedelia, fuzzy stoner rock, and galloping rock and roll." Distorted Sound highlighted its "gnarly guitar and vocals galore that just oozes with confidence and coolness," and Sputnik Music praised the album for expanding the band's horizons into metal territory.
