The Hobo Johnson Drinks Tour kicked off on June 19 in San Diego and continues through August 16. I had the chance to attend the show on Friday, July 12, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Frank, also known as Hobo Johnson, captivated the crowd right away by playing hits such as "Subaru Crosstrek" and "Sex in the City," ending his set with "Peach Scone" and "Typical Story."
Frank's energy throughout his set kept everyone on their feet, dancing and singing along. His interactions with the crowd made it an unforgettable experience for everyone in attendance. His humor and political rants, infused within his between-song monologues, were a highlight for many. Frank is more than just an artist; he is a passionate advocate for real-world political issues and mental health. His impact has been profound since his rise to fame with "Peach Scone."
Hobo Johnson’s backup band, The Lovemakers, also put on an incredible show. They showcased their multi-instrumental talents and backing vocals, enhancing the overall performance. Frank even played a few different instruments, including acoustic guitar and bass, further showcasing his musical versatility.
