JoJo Siwa released her new song "Karma" on April 5. Described as a full 180 from previous music, "Karma" marks Siwa's first release under this rebrand. It's out with the bows, and in with warpaint.
Before we dive into Siwa’s new look, let’s talk about her latest song and the accompanying music video. I haven’t heard from JoJo Siwa since her Nickelodeon days acting on television and in movie premieres. I don’t know what I expected when I started this video, but it surely wasn’t this! In the video we see Siwa venting her frustrations over a past lover as she gets up close and personal with female dancers. The choreography is truly beautiful and very sensual, tying Jojo's roots with her new endeavors.
The new song isn’t the only thing this 20-year-old is rocking. Her unique look at the 2024 iHeart Radio Music Awards stunned fans worldwide. She rocked the carpet with edgy black face paint and a glam rock bodysuit, completely abandoning her typical all-neon ambiance.
This look divided fans, but it doesn’t matter what others have to say when Gene Simmons comments on your appearance. Simmons praised the edgier look, commenting that haters don’t get it and are probably just jealous. “Never be ordinary. Always be extraordinary,” Simmons said. “JoJo is extraordinary and she looks cool.”
