Country darling Maren Morris isn't shying away from heartbreak. On July 12, the Grammy-winning artist unveiled her raw and honest new single, "i hope i never fall in love," via Columbia Records.

This introspective track marks the arrival of a new era for Morris. "I hope I never fall in love again…You can hold me to that," she declares in the song, her powerful vocals soaring over a sixties-inspired melody and a driving tambourine beat. The lyrics paint a vivid picture of someone grappling with the aftermath of a painful relationship.

The song, co-written by Morris with Delacey, Evan Blair, and Lucy Healey, explores the messy and often contradictory emotions that come with healing. Morris acknowledges the desire to numb the pain ("throwing parties, going home with a stranger, popping champagne") while recognizing the importance of vulnerability.

"i hope i never fall in love" serves as the lead single for Morris' upcoming EP, titled Intermission. Details about the full EP are still under wraps, but fans can expect more emotional honesty from the country star.

In the meantime, Morris is gearing up for the next leg of her RSVP Redux Tour, which kicks off on July 26. Fans can submit their dream setlists for upcoming dates and experience a show tailored to their wishes.

With "i hope i never fall in love," Maren Morris proves she's not afraid to lay bare her soul. This bittersweet heartbreak anthem is sure to connect with anyone who's ever loved and lost.
