On December 28, 2015, the metal community lost a legend. Lemmy Kilmister lost his battle to cancer at the age of 70. Lemmy may be gone, but there is one festival that will be keeping his spirit alive.

Bloodstock officially announced Thursday, that after working with Motörhead management, some of the legendary vocalist/bassist’s ashes will be kept in an urn at the festival site. Additionally, a bust of Kilmister will be commissioned as part of the permanent memorial. Once the festival is over, the bust will move to Nottingham's Rock City venue, where fans will have access to the ashes; they will return each and every year to their primary home on the hallowed turf of Bloodstock at Catton Park.

"Bloodstock has always been a special place for MOTÖRHEAD and for Lemmy. The people and the energy matched Lemmy's values perfectly." - Todd Singer, Motörhead's Manager

In addition to the new memorial, the on site gallery will also be extended this year. This accommodation will expand the Motörhead theme. It will include a full wall of Motörhead artwork and archive memorabilia. You can also relive a moment in time by visiting a recreation of Lemmy’s touring dressing room.
