"I think this lineup is one of the top five best in the festival's history. It will appeal to all fans of all genres of extreme music.” - Festival’s founder Scott Lee on this year’s lineup.
New England Metal & Hardcore Festival’s inaugural performance took place back in 1999 at Worcester’s Palladium, which would become the festivals home for the next nineteen years until the festival took a hiatus in 2018. The festival has featured many of metal and hardcore’s biggest names such as Megadeth, All That Remains, Whitechapel, Every Time I Die, Anthrax, Sick Of It All and many more on multiple stages over the course of two or three days. After taking a five year break following 2018, the festival made its highly anticipated return in 2023 with Parkway Drive, Hatebreed, The Amity Affliction and The Black Dahlia Murder.
This years headliners will see Killswitch Engage and Slaughter To Prevail on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Killswitch Engage, Massachusetts hometown band, will also be playing a very special 25th anniversary set to commemorate 25 years of the band’s legacy.
"The place where it all began for us was The Worcester Palladium our first show and our first Metal Festival. Here we are, 25 years later, returning to the same venue to perform a unique set to celebrate our legacy as a band We are honored and excited to be a part of this legendary festival once again. 25 years of Killswitch Engage!" - Vocalist Jesse Leach on the special occasion.
Worcester’s Palladium has been home to many special events in both metal and hardcore, especially for Killswitch Engage. The band played their first ever show there in November of 1999, opening for In Flames. The band also filmed two shows there that would be released in DVD format with the first being in 2005 titled (Set This) World Ablaze and in 2021 titled Live At The Palladium. New England Metal & Hardcore Festival was also home of the band’s first show with Jesse Leach since his returning to the band in 2012.
