September 6, 2024 - Metalcore band, Glass Hands release their new single, “What My Mind Can Do To Me.” This is the bands latest release since 2022.
“What My Mind Can Do To Me” is about struggling with your own inner thoughts. It’s about trying to juggle your own hardships while trying to hold a relationship at the same time. Whether it be an intimate relationship, or a friendship. It can be hard to juggle both, this songs delves into that hardship.
I’ve never listened to Glass Hands before today. I’m glad this was the first song I heard. This song is a beautiful blend of clean vocals and screams. You can feel the emotions that were poured into these lyrics.
"'…It talks about those sleepless nights and feeling empty, watching things crumble around you when you're stuck in that headspace. The main line, "I'm still afraid of what my mind can do to me," really captures the core of it - dealing with two problems at once - your own internal struggles and trying to make a relationship work at the same time." Says the band regarding the new single.
There’s one line that stuck with me the most; “I’m still afraid of what my mind can to do me, I got on foot in the grave, one stuck inside my brain”. I don’t know if it’s the emotion from the song, or just how I’ve been feeling, but this line hit hard for me. The way I see it, things are hard for everybody.
