Australian nu-metal powerhouse Ocean Grove has just dropped another banger with their latest single, "MY DISASTER," accompanied by a ferocious new music video. This release follows their recent launch of the ODDWORLD Records label and a new signing with SharpTone Records for international distribution.
The band continues to be an electrifying force in the heavy music scene, blending nu-metal, hardcore, and alternative rock into their unique brand of "Oddworld Music." The eclectic trio, consisting of Tanner, bassist/vocalist Twiggy Hunter, and drummer/producer Sam Bassal, has earned global recognition for their inventive approach and refusal to conform to musical norms.
Hot on the heels of their earlier 2024 single "FLY AWAY," "MY DISASTER" is a sonic rollercoaster. The track oscillates between guttural nu-metal riffs and melodic breakdowns, capturing the complexities of the human experience with Ocean Grove's signature chaotic energy. Produced, mixed, and mastered by the band's own Sam Bassal, the single further solidifies their nu-metal roots while embracing a heavier sound as they dive deeper into their "Oddworld renaissance."
Since their 2017 debut album The Rhapsody Tapes, which reached #5 on the ARIA Charts, the band has consistently pushed boundaries. Their sophomore release Flip Phone Fantasy (2020) and Up In The Air Forever (2022) also landed in the ARIA Charts top 10, showcasing their innovative songwriting and fearless experimentation.
With a diverse range of influences, from Korn and N.E.R.D. to Faith No More, Ocean Grove has built a devoted fanbase through their captivating music and unforgettable live performances. They've toured alongside major acts like Limp Bizkit and Don Broco and appeared at festivals like Download Australia and UNIFY Gathering.
Currently, Ocean Grove is on tour supporting Polaris in Australia, with upcoming dates in Hobart, Forth, Geelong, and Frankston. They're also set to perform at the Big Pineapple Festival in Woombye, Queensland, this October, sharing the stage with The Amity Affliction, Bliss N Eso, and many others.
