Of Mice & Men has been a four piece storm cloud of energy since late 2016. Since then, they have released three records with their own individual, and remarkable sound. Previously, the band released four albums with original frontman Austin Carlile in the metal-core wave of the mid 2000s. With songs like O.G. Loko, ohioisonfire, Would You Still Be There, and-number one single with one hundred million streams on Spotify alone-Second & Sebring, the band brings a massive variety of sounds.
OM&M often writes about personal struggles and broad aspects in society, mixing it with aggressive and experimental musicianship. The band is known for how intense their live shows can be, pushing the crowd to move like waves in the ocean. They had their 90 minute set start with rapid flow mass movement from their opening song Obsolete, then 13 more songs that pushed mental and physical boundaries. Older songs have a more diverse tone mixing choppy flow and melodic yelling, while more recent songs experiment in more progressive sounds ultimately gaining the ears of multiple different listeners who either want mosh pit fuel, or are looking for personal support.
On September 8th, 2024, OM&M played the final show for the "Tether" album cycle with Still Stayer opening the night and direct support Inimical Drive. Still Stayer brought their melodic sound and tight breakdowns all the way from Milwaukee, giving the crowd an early introduction for whats to come later. Inimical Drive then followed pursuit with articulate guitar solos, and drums fast enough to be measured in horse power. Halfway through the set ID covered Snuff by Slipknot, giving the crowd one last slower moment to reflect on personal loss.
