On September 21st, Paleface Swiss brought the ultimate heat from their first ever North American Headlining tour to a nearly sold out Meadows in Brooklyn, NY. Support came from Enterprise Earth, VCTMS, Crown Magnetar and local act Psychojava.
Opening the night was the local act Psychojava. Psychojava is a solo project with a good blend of rap and Deathcore. The turnout for Psychojava was great. Despite only playing a short set, they got the whole crowd moving, warming them up for what's to come later on.

Next up is Crown Magnetar. Crown Magnetar, which consists of Dan Crown (vocals), Byron London (drums), Nick Burnett (guitar) and Grant Robinson (bass) are a 4 piece Technical Deathcore band that dominate the ranks on speed, dynamics and sheer brutality. They were formed in 2017 and are based out of Colorado, USA.
Crown Magnetar dominated their performance with 8 string guitars and 6 string bass creating downtempo breakdowns that got the whole crowd moshing throughout the set. Crown showed power and domination in his gutturals. He demanded violence and movement to which the crowd obliged.
At two different points in the set, two guest vocalists came up in stage, one was Yasmine, from the New York - based Deathcore band Face Yourself, and Dan Crown's wife. The second was Heath Thompson from the band Discoveries to rip up a verse in the song "God Is My Enemy".
Next up is the Chicago-based metalcore act VCTMS. VCTMS consists of John Matalone (vocals), Meredith Henderson (drums), Blake Hill (guitar), Mike Clampitt (guitar), and Evan Gilles (bass).
VCTMS is no stranger to Brooklyn’s scene. Being a second home to them, they always know what to expect and the crowd delivered like they always do. Throughout the set people were two stepping and attacking each other with inflatable swords and throwing beach balls around in the pit.
Next up is Enterprise Earth. Enterprise Earth is a deathcore band formed in 2014 in Spokane, WA. The band consists of Gabe Mangold (guitar), Brandon Zackey (drums), Travis Worland (vocals), and Dakota Johnson (bass).
Enterprise Earth had a fun set. Travis knew how to get the crowd going. He called for moshing, crowd surfing and even stage diving. The technical guitar playing Gabe showed was mind blowing. The beach ball throwing and sword fighting continued in the pit and multiple people climbed on the stage to jump right off it.
The last song they played was "Scars of the Past" and out of nowhere in the middle of the song, Worland just jumps right into the crowd. All in all it was a very fun set and definitely my favorite Enterprise Earth set I’ve seen from them.
Last, but most certainly not least, the hottest band from Switzerland, Paleface Swiss finally takes the stage. Paleface Swiss hails from Zurich, Switzerland formed in 2017 and this is their first ever North American Headlining Tour. Paleface Swiss consists of Marc Zelli (vocals), Yannick Lehmann (guitar), Tommy-Lee Abt (bass) and Cassiano Toma (drums).
They were barely a song in and already the crowd went wild for them. Before going on the crowd was chanting “PALEFACE! PALEFACE” and when they went on, the crowd went absolutely wild for them. Just as their Spotify bio says, “The neutrality Switzerland is known for globally does not apply to PALEFACE. They came to destroy.” From crowd surfing, stage diving, violent moshing and even a wall of death, they took no prisoners making sure that the crowd was in full force. Phil Ryabkin, who was in attendance at the show took some time to give his thoughts on Paleface Swiss' success:
“Overall as a fan, it’s great to see that Paleface Swiss is gaining the traction that they deserve as a band. Very few extreme metal bands, especially one from Switzerland couldn’t imagine to gain a cult following in just a few short years. Paleface Swiss looks like they’re shaping up to be massive icons in deathcore and it doesn’t seem like they aren’t slowing down any time soon! Another band in the pile that is making the deathcore revival stronger than ever!”
Paleface Swiss made their US debut back in March supporting Bodysnatcher, Angelmaker and Distant and they kept it rolling after that. With majority of shows sold out and ones with only a handful of tickets left, Paleface Swiss is on its way to becoming one of hottest modern day Deathcore bands.
