Fans of alternative rock are in for a treat this summer as Pixies and Modest Mouse are set to co-headline a North American tour, kicking off on May 31 in Charleston, South Carolina. The tour promises to be a major event for rock enthusiasts, bringing together two iconic bands for their influential sounds and dynamic live performances. Joining them as a special guest on this tour will be Cat Power, adding even more excitement to the lineup.
The tour marks a significant move for Pixies, as it will be the North American debut of their new bassist, Emma Richardson. Richardson, formerly of the British rock band Band of Skulls, joined Pixies earlier this year and made her worldwide debut during the band's sold-out U.K./European "Bossanova x Trompe Le Monde" tour. Her addition to the band follows the departure of Paz Lenchantin, who left to pursue her own projects. The band expressed their gratitude for Lenchantin's contributions and wished her the best in her feature endeavors.
The co-headline tour with Modest Mouse is highly anticipated, as both bands have carved out their own unique spaces in the alternative rock scene. Pixies, known for their pioneering contributions to the genre and hits like "Where Is My Mind?" and "Here Comes Your Man," continue to captivate audiences with their energetic performances and innovative sound. Modest Mouse, celebrated for tracks such as "Float On" and "Dashboard," brings a distinctively introspective and eclectic approach to their music, ensuring a diverse and engaging concert experience for fans.
