Lindsey Stirling has been inspiring people across the globe since her presence graced our Tvs in 2010 on America's Got Talent. Her persistence, passion, and patience is exactly what got her to where she is today. Lindsey contrasts the human emotions on her most recent tour with Walk off the Earth. From red-hot anxiety to cool and calm, from exciting curiosity to mellow sadness, you can expect to experience a spectrum of amazing emotions on this Duality tour.
Back in 2018, I saw Lindsey live for the first time on The Synthesis Tour with rock legends, Evanescence. There, Lindsey played a montage video of her dancing and singing with her friends to all of Amy Lee's popular songs. She then pranced onto the stage to show she had made her dream come true. At that moment, I had created a new dream for myself; to one day photograph Lindsey Stirling, and maybe one day even work alongside her.
Flash forward to 2024, I had the pleasure of photographing Lindsey on Monday, July 22, at the Texas CU Trust Theatre in Grand Prairie, Texas. I have enjoyed Lindsey's shows in the past, but there was something incredibly special about this one. Her attention to detail in her storytelling didn't just shine through her music, but with the lights, set design, costumes, and sounds. Some of her classic songs, such as "Round Table Rival," were performed along with the famous guitar duel. My personal favorite part of all her shows, however, is when she takes a few moments to speak words of wisdom over the crowd. Lindsey explained why she played two songs back to back and contrasted with intense choreography with red colors, and slowed down storytelling with blue colors, "We are fed so much information at such a fast pace and we never take the time to just slow down and take a breath. That's why I decided to stop for a moment and just take a breath with you guys." Just to paraphrase what she said, it was truly a great moment to be a part of.
Other fun moments throughout the night involved Lindsey praising a newly engaged couple, playing Happy Birthday to a little girl in the crowd, and of course, it's not a Lindsey Stirling show without help from the audience in making a TikTok video. If you haven't already, get your tickets to see this tantalizing show!
