It's a Sunday evening and the locals in Columbia, Missouri, aren't ready to end their weekend just yet. As the venue fills up you can feel the anticipation in the air. Many concert goers at this particular show, including myself, had seen SES headline at The Blue Note back in 2010 with support from Burn Halo and The Last Vegas.
Decadent Nation kicked off the night gifting the crowd with three unreleased songs titled "The Day You Were Born," "Shake It," and "Tenison." Forming in 2004 Decadent Nation is celebrating their 20th anniversary as a band and will be releasing their sixth album this fall! Within that 20 year span the DN dudes have opened up for Chevelle, Les Claypool, Three Days Grace, Shadows Fall and Candlebox.

Dark Below is up next as the direct support band. Forming in 2012, Dark Below released their first full length album tilted "Tragic Hero" in May of 2024. This was somewhat of a special show for Dark Below's fill in drummer, Jay G, for it was his first time performing live with the DB boys. In the last 12 years as a band, Dark Below has had the pleasure of opening up for other national bands such as Saliva, Pop Evil, Cavo, Scotty Austin, Buckcherry, Blacktop Mojo, Zillion, The Veer Union, Framing Hanley, and Rehab.

Smile Empty Soul ends the night by taking the crowd back to the early 2000's, performing songs such as "Bottom of the Bottle" and "Silhouettes." Ty, the drummer, kicks up his feet on his drum set all while keeping the crowd participation going, The crowd sings along to every word as loud as the can while feeding off each others energy.
