On their co-headline “Jubilee Tour,” Stone Temple Pilots and Live took the stage Sunday night at the YouTube Theater in Inglewood, California. Celebrating the 30th anniversary of some of their most popular releases, Stone Temple Pilots’ “Purple” and Lives’ “Throwing Copper,” fans lined up outside to be a part of this legendary night.
Following Our Lady Peace, who brought the energy as eager fans poured into the YouTube theater, Live came out strong, starting with some of their most popular songs. After playing “I Alone,” their most listened to song off of “Throwing Copper,” the crowd was electric. Continuing on through their set, fans sang along to their songs and you could tell that Live was putting their all into their set. Not only were they tight, they put on one hell of a performance, rockin' around the stage.
Stone Temple Pilots closed out the night and took their fans back to the release of their 1994 album, “Purple.” After playing the entirety of the album during their set, they played some of their biggest songs “Plush,” “Sex Type Thing,” and “Dead & Bloated.” Jeff Gutt, Stone Temple Pilots lead singer since 2017, with his massive stage presence and killer vocals, moved around the stage interacting with fans and rocking out without ever missing a note. The frontman is a true performer, and a perfect person to help continue the band's legacy alongside the original members, Dean DeLeo, Robert DeLeo and Eric Kretz.
Being that those three have played with each other since the start of the band in 1989, they showcased exactly why they have grown to be such a hit since the 90s. Stone Temple Pilots and Live truly brought 1994 to 2024, and the fans could not get enough of this memorable night.
