Last Friday night, the stage at Elsewhere came alive as Whethan delivered an unforgettable performance that left the audience buzzing. The Chicago-born producer, known for his infectious blend of electronic and indie pop, captivated the Brooklyn crowd from start to finish.



Ethan Snoreck, professionally known as Whethan, is an American electronic music producer and DJ who has rapidly risen to prominence with his distinctive blend of electronic, indie pop, and future bass. Known for his innovative production techniques and infectious beats, Whethan has captivated audiences worldwide and established himself as a dynamic force in the modern music landscape.


Born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, Ethan Snoreck's journey into music began at a young age. He developed a passion for electronic music during his teenage years, drawing inspiration from the likes of Daft Punk, Skrillex, and Deadmau5. At the age of 15, Snoreck started producing music on his laptop, honing his skills and experimenting with different sounds.


Whethan's breakthrough came in 2016 when he released a remix of Mssingno's track "X3E," which quickly gained traction on SoundCloud and caught the attention of industry insiders. One of his notable collaborations was with Australian singer-songwriter Wafia on the track "Love Gang," which received widespread acclaim and further expanded his global reach.


Now, the Chicago-born, LA-based Whethan is back and reviving the scene with his highly anticipated album, Life of a Wallflower, Vol 2. Released on July 12 via Good Luck Have Fun, this dynamic release is captivating audiences globally with its diverse blend of sub-genres and emotive landscapes.


Featuring collaborations with Elly Duhé, Snakehips, AG Club, Nessa Barrett, SHY Martin, Flowdan, MKLA, and more, Whethan's latest work showcases his evolution as an artist and skilled collaborator in the studio and beyond. Life of a Wallflower, Vol. 2 marks a significant leap in Wethan's artistic journey arriving six years after its predecessor. This breakthrough project catapulted him into the spotlight and solidified his status as a leading producer in the dance music scene.


Following the highly acclaimed debut, Life of a Wallflower, Vol. 1 this eagerly awaited sequel offers a magnetic exploration of the artist's growth over the past six years. From disco influences, loungey synth-laden beats, Indian vocal samples, and grimy trap beats to breakbeat-forward percussions, stuttered vocals, and his signature future-bass-inspired production that he became known for in 2018, Whethan's latest offering stands as a distinctive snapshot of his new era.


Life of a Wallflower, Vol. 2 takes listeners on a sonically diverse journey through future-bass groves, peak-time techno beats, electro-pop melodies, gritty grime influences, and more. 'DO YOU REMEMBER' exemplifies this fusion, blending a sleek house-adjacent track with future-bass groove. It intertwines disco elements with modern house production and featured distorted vocals for a unique edge. The album also features tracks like 'ENERGY,' a darkly atmospheric electronic number with haunting vocal chants, 'CRAZY4U' featuring MKLA, a pulsing peak-time dance track, and 'MONEY ON THE DASH' featuring Elley Duhé—the addictive electro-pop banger already making waves across global dancefloors and stages.


'PLACE IN MY MIND,' an uptempo glitchy dream-pop anthem featuring SHY Martin's breezy vocals, adds another layer of depth, while 'ROOM IS ON FIRE,' the lead single featuring Snakeships and AG Club, showcases a punchy bassline and loungey synths with high-energy verses and effortlessly simple beats. 'Sick Of Myself' featuring Nessa Barrett combines Whethan's infectious beats with Barrett's sultry charm, creating a club-ready, irreverent pop gem. The fourth single, 'STEALTH BOMBER' featuring Flowdan, delivers a grimy, high-energy track with a unique blend of dance music, global sounds, and Flowdan's rumbling vocals, making it a white-hot collaboration that rounds out this compelling album.

Strobe lights accompanied the music, synchronized with the drops and tempo changes that enhanced the overall experience.
