Since the release of their debut album, “Los Angeles,” in April of 1980, X The Band has continued to make an impact on the music scene in Los Angeles. Almost 45 years later, on July 25, 2024, fans of all ages eagerly crowded the front of the stage inside of the Regent Theater waiting to hear them play.

Opening up the show, The Beat Farmers played some of their classics such as “Reason to Believe'' and “California Kid”. This was a perfect start to the show, making it hard for the audience to not dance along to the beat.

As X came out onto the stage, they interacted with fans in the front row as if they knew them. This brought smiles to everyone's faces, and was a perfect way to kick off their set. Despite their long run as a band, X The Band played some of their biggest hits, “Wild Thing” and “Los Angeles,'' matching the sound and vibe that was on the original records. The energy of the band and the crowd continued building after every song they played. Towards the end of their set, X played one of their singles off their soon to be released album “Smoke and Fiction.”

Playing songs from 40 years ago, and songs from today, made it seem like no time had passed since they first started releasing music. X The Band stayed true to their roots, and played a killer show, which brought smiles to many generations of people who had the privilege of being there.
